The digital "learning factory" sets a precedent!

Our future is digital

With the Smart Factory at our school location in Wörth, we are investing in the digital future. On November 21, 2019, the Interreg funding decision was handed over to District Administrator Fritz Brechtel by our Rhineland-Palatinate Education Minister, Stefanie Hubig, and the Economics Minister, Volker Wissing. Many supporters and sponsors of the project took part in the ceremony and expressed their joy at it. In addition to our location in Wörth, the schools Georges Imbert in Sarre-Union and Heinrich Nessel in Haguenau will also have a "Smart Factory". The aim of "Smart Factory" is to create a bilingual, cross-border and innovative educational network in the field of digitized storage and manufacturing. The project is part of a series of measures designed to make the students fit for Industry 4.0.

Franco-German project

The money comes from a European Union fund. The learning factory costs a total of 2.9 million euros. It simulates the real world of work and thus creates training modules that help German and French young people to prepare optimally for new job profiles. The Smart Factory is a joint project by German and French partners.
