More and more people are old. Every old person has their own long life story, is in a very special situation, has very individual characteristics and needs. Comprehensive care for the elderly that is geared to the personality of the individual requires that the physical, mental and social needs of the elderly can be correctly identified and assessed. This is the only way that the elderly can be individually accompanied, cared for and cared for. The technical school for geriatric care in Wörth teaches the necessary skills and abilities for a career in geriatric care and, in cooperation with geriatric care institutions, carefully prepares the trainees for geriatric care the high demands of their future activities. We attach particular importance to intensive support of the practical training by our teachers. The theoretical and practical training at the technical school takes place in learning modules, e.g Caring for old people with gerontopsychiatric changes, participating in medical diagnostics and therapy, supporting old people in their lifestyle, developing professional self-image. A special focus at our school is the topic D emenz.The lessons are organized in a block system and alternate with practical training with our cooperation partners in inpatient, semi-inpatient and outpatient care for the elderly, so that the experiences from everyday care and school can grow together.Degree: State-certified geriatric nursing assistant Duration: 1 year (beginning August 1st) Scope: 800 hours of theoretical instruction at the technical school 850 hours of practical training in a facility for elderly care Admission requirements: secondary school leaving certificate or an equivalent educational qualification, proof of previous vocational training through completed at least two years of vocational training or at least one year of practical activity or a voluntary social year in social care facilities for the elderly or in hospitals or completion of vocational school I (specializing in health/care) or at least three years e full-time, relevant activity or at least two years of running a family household with at least one person in need of care, submission of an apprenticeship contract with an in-patient or out-patient care facility for the elderly, a certificate from the health department on physical suitability for the desired profession and the completion of the 16th year of life.
